With sexual harassment scandals in the news, employers may find more employees coming forward with similar claims in their businesses. For businesses who are unsure of how to put together an effective anti-harassment policy or what to do if they receive a report of harassment, California has outlined specific harassment prevention rules and recommendations in a comprehensive state guide.
The harassment prevention guide was released in May and was developed jointly by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the California Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. The guide covers the following topics:
- What an effective Anti-harassment program should include
- What to do if you receive a report of harassment or other wrongful behavior
- Best practices & Basic steps required to conduct a fair investigation
- Confidentiality requirements
- Investigation timelines
- Documentation & Remedial Measures

The DFEH also released a brochure that discusses ways to prevent and correct misconduct. This brochure is a great addition to your AB1825 training and to your onboarding and new hire orientation package.
TRAINING: We offer mandatory two hour (AB1825) harassment training for managers and one hour courses for managers and employees, so you can train all of your employees. Online, Live or Webinar trainings available.
