Our Values
CEA History
In 1937, a small group of employers needing human resources and labor relations assistance pooled their financial resources to form the California Association of Employers. In 1938 a small group of employers formed the Valley Employers Association in Fresno for the same purpose. In 2007, CAE and VEA joined forces and today are known as the California Employers Association (CEA) with a for-profit subsidiary known as CAE Services Inc.
CEA and CAE Services, Inc. are both governed by a board of directors comprised of representatives from member businesses. The board provides policy direction in the execution and expansion of human resource and labor relations services to members.
A hallmark of CEA is how it provides benefits to members. CEA employs human resource and labor relations professionals to provide hands-on, issue-specific consultation services covering all aspects of employer-employee relations. The benefit to members is that CEA's human resource advisors become familiar with their business and culture. These experts, who bring more than 180 years of combined experience, are located throughout the state.
