IIPP Safety Programs
A Safety Program Can Save Your Business
CalOSHA regularly issues more than 18,000 safety violation citations a year. A well-designed safety program provides your team with the tools necessary to address hazards and reduces the impact of workplace injuries.
Our safety partners can help you reach and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Whether you are looking to enhance your existing safety program or start from scratch, we’ve got you covered.
Create an IIPP for Your Business
Keeping you and your employees safe while staying compliant means having a robust Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). As of 1991, every employer doing business in California must have a written, implemented, and effective IIPP. It is mandatory for all employers in the state. The IIPP aims at making California workplaces safe and healthy by providing a standard on how to identify workplace hazards and mitigate risks that lead to injuries.
What does “implemented and effective” really mean? We can help your organization meet all IIPP requirements such as employee responsibilities, Cal/OSHA compliance, communication, hazard assessments, training requirements, recordkeeping obligations, incident investigation, and hazard correction. We can also assist with the implementation of program elements or verify overall effectiveness. Missteps like outdated training and poor hazard documentation are common among employers. Our team of experts is versed in common program gaps that lead to increased injury potential and industry best practices.
Join our webinar, Anatomy of an IIPP, on February 4, 2026. It's ideal for staff in charge of risk management, workers' comp reduction efforts, and compliance. All supervisors, safety coordinators, and managers are welcome to attend. For more details about improving or updating your IIPP program, contact us workplacesafety@safetycenter.org.
Low-Hazard IIPP
Workplaces like an office, call center, or retail space have minimal physical risks such as slips, trips, and falls.
Low-risk IIPPs are $1,400 per plan through SafetyCenter.
High-Hazard IIPP
Workplaces, such as construction and manufacturing sites, pose more dangers, such as operating heavy machinery or chemical exposure.
These High-risk IIPPs require a free consultation with SafetyCenter to determine the scope of work involved.

"DAYS after we instituted our Injury & Illness Prevention Program one of our employees got injured. The Cal-OSHA guy was amazed that we had all our documentation immediately available and honestly I think because we were organized and cooperative they cut our penalties way down. I shudder to think what would have happened if we had NOTHING in writing like we did a couple years ago!! So thank you so much for your company’s services."
